When you’re experiencing an issue with iMessage, the first step is to determine whether the problem is with one contact or whether iMessage isn’t working with any of the contacts on your iPhone. If iMessage isn’t working with just one of your contacts, the problem is most likely on their end. ICloud helps you organize and sync contacts between all types of devices, as long as they use the same Apple ID. So when you add or update a contact, iCloud makes that same change on all your devices–no need to manually update. When you enable iCloud Contacts, all of the contact information stored on each device uploads to iCloud and syncs. Launch the Messages app in iOS (set up iMessage if you haven’t yet) Tap the Compose button in the upper right corner to start a new message Type the contacts name, or just put the first letter of their name and have a list populate iMessage users will show a blue iMessage icon alongside their name. If you still can't send or receive messages, contact Apple Support. If you don't receive SMS messages, contact your carrier. If you switched to a non-Apple phone, learn how to deactivate iMessage. Learn how to report unwanted iMessages.
Good morning GilbertColomy,
It sounds like you’re having some trouble with iMessage, and when sending a message to a contact you’re getting the error that the contact is invalid. I’ll be happy to help out with this.
First, let’s start with some basic troubleshooting. Open Messages > Preferences > Accounts and make sure you’re signed in with your Apple ID here. Also make sure under “You can be reached for messages at” your Apple ID is listed here. If not, then click “Add Email” and add your Apple ID. If these settings are correct, then try signing out of your Apple ID here and then sign back in.

If these settings are correct and you’re still having issues, let us know if it's only this contact that you're having issues with and if you have the same issue sending an iMessage to this same person on your iPhone.
