Celebrating Steve on what would have been his 66th birthday. Especially in a year where so much kept us apart, technology brought us together in limitless ways. That’s a testament to Steve’s life and the legacy he left, which continue to inspire me every day. Pic.twitter.com/4nluynVjFF — Tim Cook (@timcook) February 24, 2021. Tim Cook Twitter The internet's not exactly known for its sympathetic nature. You can probably guess how the digital world reacted to Apple CEO Tim Cook posting a shoddy Super Bowl snap to Twitter. Tim Cook made a public appearance at the Palo Alto Apple Store this morning for the launch of the iPhone 5s and 5c, and it looks like he may have finally taken to a Twitter account he created back.

  • GLAAD says adding pronouns to social media profiles is a way to support trans people.
  • Cook is a public supporter of LGBTQ youth.

Tim Cook and Greg Joswiak, two Apple executives, both added pronouns to their Twitter bios. Xtick for mac.

Apple CEO Tim Cook looks to have made the change recently. On December 5, his bio reads 'Apple CEO  Auburn Duke National Parks 'Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?' - MLK. he/him.' A Wayback Machine screenshot from November 27 shows that his pronouns were not in his bio then, so he made the change sometime after November 27.

Apple SVP of marketing Greg Joswiak also lists his pronouns in his Twitter bio. GLAAD, an NGO dedicated to calling out discrimination against LGBTQ people, says cis people sharing pronouns is an important way to be an ally to trans people.

'Introducing yourself as a cisgender person with your pronouns - which are words that are used to refer to someone without using their name - can make a more inclusive and safe environment for trans people to also share their pronouns..Another easy way to normalize sharing your pronouns is to add your pronouns to your social media bios or email signature' GLAAD advises.

Organizations, including schools and businesses, are increasingly normalizing sharing pronouns in emails and to open meetings. It's also important to note that pronouns do not dictate a person's gender identity, as Canela López noted in Insider's guide to understanding pronouns.

Cook came out as gay in 2014 and has said that he was motivated by letters he received from children struggling with their sexual orientation. He said that he worried about the reaction outside of Apple at the time and noted 'the world is still not friendly to gay or trans people in many countries but also within our country.' This year, he also tweeted in recognition of Transgender Day of Remembrance, which honors people hurt by anti-trans violence.

Elon Musk has taken to Twitter to reveal that “during the darkest days of the Model 3 programme,” he offered Apple CEO Tim Cook to discuss the purchase of Tesla.

Cook, however, refused to meet him.

During the darkest days of the Model 3 program, I reached out to Tim Cook to discuss the possibility of Apple acquiring Tesla (for 1/10 of our current value). He refused to take the meeting.

Musk had previously spilled that Tesla was “single-digit weeks” away from collapse in 2017.

After starting production of the Model 3 in 2017, Tesla was struggling to keep up with production volumes amid a high number of orders. In April 2018, its capitalisation fell by a quarter, and the company had to take emergency measures to rectify the situation.

Subsequently, Tesla has repeatedly reported losses, but continued to confidently increase car production. For the first time, the company entered net profit only at the end of the second quarter of 2018, but these figures remained insignificant due to investments in production facilities.

The news about the botched business meeting between Musk and Cook has been met with all sorts of social media reactions from Tesla and Apple fans.

Good luck to Apple, they'll probably buy Tesla's and put a skin over the top to make it all Maccy, they used to be unique but borrow everyone elses kit these days.

Tesla will be more valuable than Apple one day! We just need more giga factories and middle class family car ( under $20k). I see all this happening in next 5 years.

Apple would have destroyed Tesla. Tim Cook is not innovator, he's a accountant.

If this is actually true then, #TimCook has really missed a great opportunity for @Apple to grow and this might be a really dumb move to refuse initiated help from @elonmusk and @Tesla. #Apple has been on a hit, if it needs to regain the domination they will have to explore more. https://t.co/ftwSPxx2Qj

Musk shared this information amid the reports that Apple intends to release a self-driving passenger car in 2024. According to the media, Apple is now focusing on developing a battery of its own design, which is a large single-cell battery.
